2019 Laser Lifeline Charity Golf Day Fundraiser
Lifeline Aotearoa is Laser's chosen charity
Mental Health & Suicide are huge issues for NZ. Statistically, each & every one of us will be affected by, or know someone who has been affected by suicide at some time during our lives
Of course, the main purpose is to raise & donate money to this worthy organisation, however, our aim is also to get people talking about & raising awareness for these issues.
So, in November last year, Laser's from all around the country descended upon Napier for the Laser Charity Golf Day Fundraiser, being hosted by Laser Plumbing & Electrical Napier.
That was the 3rd year that Laser Plumbing & Electrical Napier has run this event, with over $41,000 being donated to Lifeline NZ in 2018. The target this time around was to double that amount.
Fortunately, there is never a shortage of external generosity from those such as our Suppliers, our Customers, Local Businesses & countless others in our local communities who are also keen to support this worthy charity. This is invaluable & we want to thank you all very much.
The format of the day started with the Ambrose Golf Tournament and Prizegiving directly after. Then there was the evening event, The Laser Lifeline Charity Night Auction, with food, entertainment and then the final Charity Auction.
Rob Weatherley from Laser Electrical Tauranga says "I am acutely aware of the Mental Health risks that are prevalent in our communities today. While I think that these issues have always been there, they only seem to be more commonplace these days because organisations like Lifeline Aotearoa promote that is OK to talk about these issues & offer an easy way for 'at risk 'people to ask for help. That is why I have no hesitation in getting behind this event & this worthwhile organisation. However, the golf clubs are going to need a bit of a dusting off"
